Blog Tour Stop The Lioness: A True Love Tale. By Jake Bonsignore

He pulled his hand away while pointing in feigned interest at a nearby peddler—

Adria tightened her hold like a vise grip before he could move apart.

“Wow, I didn’t even see that, Kai,” she exclaimed. Without even thinking, she whirled around and embraced him in a generous hug. She pressed her head against his shoulder and crushed his back as tightly as she could.

Uh oh. “Huh?” He was still standing in mirthful shock when she darted toward the merchant. Even then, she did not let go of his hand. By Áine, she smells so nice.

“Don’t you see all those yummies he’s selling? Look at all those chocolate truffles and the gourmet cookies on the left and—ah, Kaidan! Kaidan!” The last syllable of his name dragged on melodically as she grabbed his shoulder and shook him wildly. Any passerby would think that she was trying to resuscitate the dead or break him out of a hypnotic trance. “He has cheesecake.Cheesecake, Kaidan! Do you know how—ah! Kaidan, it’s caramel too! Trust me; I know my desserts.” She glared at him suspiciously. “Don’t judge me, Kai. They’re really, really good! By the way, did I mention that he has cheesecake?

“I, uh, okay.” He did not have to see Adria lick her lips hungrily to know her intentions. Without a doubt, she was already salivating over the confections. Bless her if she can handle it. We just ate, though.

“What do you want? Tell me, Kai. It’s my treat!”

He scratched his neck and squinted. “You don’t have to Adria. It’s okay.”

She grimaced. “Not happening, Kai. Pick one! Hurry!”

I knew that was coming. “Well, if you insist. There are so many choices to pick from.”

“I’ll count down from five.”

Geez! “Okay, um, how about some of those white chocolate candies? We can share them.”

She scrunched up her nose and shook her head. Got it, Kai. Caramel cheesecake for you, too, it is! Stay right here. I’ll be back in a flash!
Adria squeezed his hand gently and ignored the comic disbelief across Kaidan’s face. He was still standing there in a daze when she skipped away toward the vendor. Soon, he would know why cheesecake was far too fine of a treat to pass up. Hardly anything could compare to it under any circumstance.
Kaidan watched her scamper off glumly. It only seemed fitting that clouds blanketed the darkening sky above. Still, he persisted on stretching his time with Adria as far as possible. Perhaps deep down, he knew that briefly enjoying her company was better than nothing at all.

I received a ARC in exchange for a review.  Young love ahh to be young again and blind to the good things we have and chasing after the bad boy...
Adria wants to fall in love more than anything and experience all the thing she sees others in love doing.  Sometimes we are looking so hard for something that we don't see what's right in front of us.  This story we get to see the journey of 2 people who are totally in love with each other but don't truly see it.  People can see their connection but they are so focused that don't realize it has been right there all along.  I'm a romantic so any chance I get to read love stories I jump at it.  Jake did a wonderful job of building an amazing world and characters you truly connected with weather being angry at them or getting teary eyed over things said and done.  I would recommend to my readers with no hesitation.  Keep track of Jake I think we will continue to see more amazing stories out of him!!

Sighing, I wrap a towel around my waist and open the door, ready to try and be at least a level of cordial I know is only right. “Listen, can I-“ “She’s gone.” I look up, startled by Laney’s voice and shocked to see her sitting on my bed. Thank God I put on a towel. “Where’d she go?” “Home I guess,” she shrugs, “I didn’t ask. I heard the front door slam and got up to see what the hell. Since you’re here and she’s not, I’m assuming it was her.” How did I not hear the door slam? Not that I would have chased her. “Alright, she left. But what’re you doing in here?” She stands, grabbing some shorts off my floor and throwing them at me. “Go put those on and we’ll talk. Since I’m up,” she shoots me an evil glare. I head back in the bathroom to change, and stay in there, locking the door. I am over six feet tall and lift almost every day, and yes, I’m scared to face Laney. Not only is she a hellcat when she wants to be, but I don’t want to see the disgust or disappointment in her eyes. She’s one of my best friends, even more so after becoming roommates, and her opinion means a lot to me. “Get out here,” she yells when she finally realizes I must be stalling. “Take it like a man.” Well, I might as well go out or she’ll undoubtedly come in here, kicking in the door or taking if off the hinges in what I have no doubt would take her less than five minutes. I open it and she pats the bed beside her. “Come sit down. We’re doing this now.” I hesitantly take a seat beside her, my knee bouncing as I wait for her to speak. “First, and of the upmost importance, you know I call my father ‘daddy.’ So hearing your visitors scream it repeatedly in the middle of the night freaks me out. I wake up thinking I’m in some bad Lifetime movie.” Fighting my smirk I agree. "Okay, got it." "Second," she stands and tucks a pillow between my headboard and the wall, "leave that there." She once again sits down beside me. "School and game nights, booty call curfew is eleven. That work for you?" "Yeah," I sigh and run my hands along my head, wishing I had some hair to pull. "It won't happen again Gidge, I'm sorry." She places a hand on my shoulder with a small smile. "Don't be sorry, this is your house too and we hadn't talked about it. Now we have, so we're all good. Any rules you want to put in place?" "Nah, I'm easy." "Made crystal clear by the parade of women coming in and out of here." She laughs and scoots away quickly, ducking the pillow I grab and swing at her head. “Speaking of which, been busier than usual lately. You trying for Guiness or Gonorrhea?" Here we go - what she really wants to talk about.

I had the great joy of reviewing Entice the 3rd book in the Evolve series. I fell in love after reading book one and once book 2 came out I was hooked and couldn't wait for more. well Entice was even better than the first 2 books !!!! Sawyer Beckett lord have mercy I never thought in a million yrs that sexy womanizing man would ever settle down let alone make the serious life changes he did.  I have a a deep respect for men who do this ( sorry ladies not giving away any parts!!) The man whore reformed lol.  This book we get to know Sawyer better and get inside that damn womanizers head makes me have hope for some of those male friends I have that are man whores.  Emmett A beautiful creature that captured Sawyers eye and heart the first time he laid eyes on her . A quiet shy kinda a girl you think at first but she is a hotblooded smart and knows what she wants kinda girl who fights her feelings for Sawyer. This is a great story of 2 people who love each other fight their own personal demons so that they can be free to love each other and open their hearts to love again.  I could say so much more but then it would give away parts of the story and i want you to enjoy those like I did and get blown away things that happen. This was another cant put it down till i finish type of book !

Review of Wide Open by Shelly Crane

Milo is trouble.

He lives it, breathes it. He embraces anything that numbs and takes his mind somewhere else, a world where his mother is herself and not just a shell, and his brother didn't almost kill her, severing any relationship they had. But more importantly, Milo drowns out the guilt for leaving his mother and not being able to forgive his brother. He drowns his pride and moves on to another girl and another party, pretending that life isn't moving on around him and he's stuck in the same place. He's stuck in the past and doesn't know how to let go.

Maya is trouble.

She's done the party scene and has had her fair share of close calls and handcuffs. Not the kinky kind. She's so over it all and fought like hell for that life to let go so she could move on. She now works as a teen counselor. Her life is better, but her life is empty. She has no one but her brother in the whole world left and he's sick with a disease that no medicine can cure.

When they meet, a romance that scares them both emerges, but the love you fight for is the love that can mend bridges, heal scars, and open closed hearts. They'll need each other, they'll want each other, they'll have each other.

But will it all come too late?

First off I will say I'm sure you could read this without reading the 2 priors in this series.  I do not suggest it, unless you aren't looking for the whole story/picture.  Read the first 2 Wide Awake then Wide Spaces and you will have the whole picture. So much better that way.

I always enjoy Shelly's books.   She has a way of inviting you in, like a warm cozy blanket with the beautifully broken characters, and makes you pull that blanket snugly around you as you go through the trials and tribulations with each character.  Milo and Maya’s story is just that, beautiful and broken and wonderful.   Adapting to a new life, overcoming daily challenges for some is so much harder than you would think.  Everyone has their demons.  This book was touching and very heartwarming for me. So much personal growth, for healing and towards closure.  A beautiful romance that rises from grief and pain and personal demons.  Two people not only learning to trust each other but really learning to invest trust in themselves.

This is going in my stack of Re-Reads.  5 stars from me,  No loose ends on this one, or cliffhangers but I kinda hope that the Wright boys story is not over.
