Wright always knew she would be famous since the ripe old age of six
when she sang the Michael Jackson thriller song in her bathroom mirror.
She has tried her hand at many things from enlisting in the Navy for six
years as a Persian-Farsi linguist to being a nude model at an art
university.
However, writing has been the only constant love in her life. Will she succeed? Of course.

she has been coined The Urban Fantasy Queen, the Super Iconic Writer of
this Age, The Lyrical Genius of Our Generation. Granted, these are all
terms coined by her, within the private walls of her bathroom as she

~OK... lets point out that this is not a book I would normally read. It was bit hard for me to get into all the futuristic technology and at first I really had no idea what the heck was going on. This book took some serious creativity when it came to writing it. Never in my wildest imagination would I think of artificial eyes that can take their own pictures, dogs with green fur named 'Turtle', purple sweet tasting meat that is healthy for you, or drugs that you get from Mars.... So kudos to you, K.D. Penn for your imagination. All super-advanced technology and futuristic-ness aside, there actually was a love story there. I liked the fact that Epic didn't have a problem telling Phoenix how he felt, and I think I may have liked her a little more if she hadn't let the one (albeit, devastating) relationship, ruin all other relationships in her mind. I wish I knew a little more about Phoenix and Teddy's relationship to see why the heck she was screwed up. I liked that there was some background to Epic's life, including his parents, but I feel shafted when it came to Phoenix's background. The little bit that was said about her parents didn't do any justice to why she was 'epic'ally (ha) messed up in the head. Epic... I can see where he's the hot badass hero, but I think that was little overlooked with the way he just crumpled to Phoenix and whatever she wanted, in such a short amount of time. It was also hard to concentrate on him as a 'person' with so much else going on. What the heck happened to Pappy?? He's just all of the sudden forgotten about. There is some serious sex going on this book... and it's not 'lovely' sex. It's hard, raw and in your face sex. I felt like both Epic and Phoenix were psychotic, but I think they were supposed to be... but Phoenix really did lose it there for a while. Poor Ice and Ain... they never stood a chance. I felt that the ending was rushed. It was like things were finally starting to make sense and I'm at the epilogue, which btw was only a page and half... I am however glad there was no cliffhanger, because we all know I feel about those! So if you're into futuristic, planet-hopping, light-exploding guns, and psychotic bad-asses.... then this book is totally for you!
