A Lucky Second Chance : By Nickie Seidler
A tale of Domestic Violence, and getting up the courage to leave is how this story starts off.   A Grabber at the begin, at first you don’t know what is going on or why she is leaving.
Nickie paints Emmas Character to a T.  I believe she did an excellent job with the character traits of someone who has been through an abusive relationship.  The personal traits, the thought process the trust, the constant downplay/second guessing.
Emma leaves Florida to go back to her home town Chicago, to live with her brother.  Deciding to start over, make a new life.  Her brother Kevin, her closest sibling has set her up with a job with a friend working as a secretary in a law firm.  Running smack dab into Mister Wonderful on her first day of work is just when life begins to get more interesting for Emma.
Nathan Weber Aka Mister Wonderful  Is in essence a Knight In shining Armor to Emma.  He is a likeable guy easy to fall for I might add.  Sweet in his intention, a bit fast moving but I really enjoyed Nates character.
Each have their stories, their pasts.  It’s a faster pace story once you get into the meat and potatoes of it.   A great book of A Tragic beginning, learning to love again, a chance at a new life.

Give it a shot, It’s a great read!  Slow at first but a page turner as you go.   I promise you, its SOOO Worth it!

“I'm sorry. I had to pinch you and make sure this moment was real.” I smiled up at him. “That was wonderful. I've felt the same way.” I was struck by another daze as his touch sent ripples of sensation down between my legs as he rubbed my back up and down. I ran my hand across his chest, feeling how tight his muscles were through his black dress shirt. “I don't know how to say this, because we don’t even know one another, but please, don't leave me.”

As if he completely understood me, he kissed me again, ever so gently on my lips.

“I won’t go, I want to get to know you, Emma.” He ran his fingers through my hair.
“You may not like what you get to know.” A tear fell down my cheek.

“Let me take that risk,” he whispered. Then tenderly, he kissed my forehead.
“Come on, let’s go get some coffee. You like coffee, right?” He grinned.

“I love coffee. I need coffee.” I chuckled.
