Blog Tour , Review and Giveaway Pink Slips and Glass Slippers

Brooke Hart was beautiful, smart, and groomed from birth to deal with adversity.

Her widowed father did his best to raise his baby girl to be a strong-minded business woman. Then she found Tanner. Just when her world seemed perfect, everything turned upside down. Following Tanner’s tragic death, Brooke joins a start-up company that is developing a cure for the disease that killed the love of her life. Just before the treatment is ready to market, the company is gobbled up by a giant conglomerate. She moves to the acquiring company as its youngest VP and becomes enamored with CEO Chase Allman—only to be betrayed by him. Brooke rebounds again and sets out on a personal journey to discover what will truly make her happy. Sparks fly when she and Chase cross paths again in an unlikely way. Now, they need each other to find an abducted child and save thousands of people

EXCERPT

What am I doing here? Brooke had been asking herself that question for the past six weeks. The thirty-three-year-old vice president seemed to have it all, yet it felt as if her career ladder and life had crashed. Hoping to move on, relocating to the new company had officially backfired. All the blind dates set up by her well-meaning inner circle—her father, Melissa, Shane, and Todd—had fizzled before hors d’oeuvres. Online dating turned into mis-matched.com. Damn Tanner.

Feeling claustrophobic in this stuffy room, the corporate strangers eyed her like a piƱata and they were clenching bats. The stiff dress code mirrored the culture, and both felt about as comfy as tweed pajamas.

Suddenly, the boardroom hushed. All eyes pointed to the entryway like canines at obedience training graduation. Except for Brooke, whose back faced the door. She craned her neck; a whisk of air drew her to the opposite direction, followed by a masculine scent of sandalwood and cedar. Seductive.

Mr. Smellgood looked striking from the side. His physique matched his fragrance. He set his fancy briefcase at the head of the table—mahogany on mahogany. As if revealing a game show prize, he slid off his navy suit coat. Brooke’s eyes widened as he draped it over the high-backed leather chair. He had a rugged build she expected to see on a mountain climber or surfer, but not on an executive for a drug company. Brooke’s instant attraction surprised her.

MY REVIEW:
I love books where the 2 main characters have crazy messed up lives where they both want the same thing but go thru 2 completely opposite way of dealing with their feelings. I loved Brooke still trying to let go of the hurt from loosing her husband and baby. And you have Chase a hot young CEO who unknown to most of the people in his life he was hurting struggling and raising his young son on his own after is Wife and former model wife left him. The pull of the two of them wrong place wrong time both needing each other to help with the healing of their lives. I laughed and cried thru out this book . What i loved was Brook had a life coach so every time she would start to veer down the road most of us would go and be crazy and rash she had someone to call to help her see things from a new light and help her decide if these decisions would be good for her. It was like having a little angel on her shoulder also i loved the subtle push from her dead husband in different signs thru out the book that could be easily dismissed but i picked up on it and was so happy at the end. it was a great feel good romance it ended on a good note though i wished there was a bit more to the story it did end in a good place.

COVER REVEAL Fear of Falling By: S.L Jennings

Synopsis:

I can’t remember the last time I felt completely safe. Security seemed more like a luxury to me, reserved for those who were fortunate enough to have picture perfect childhoods. For those who didn’t bear the ugly scars that keep me bound in constant, debilitating fear. I’ve run from that fear my entire life. But when I met him, for once, I couldn’t run anymore.

He scared the hell out of me in a way that excited every fiber of my being. It wasn’t the tattoos or the piercings. It wasn’t the warmth that seemed to radiate from his frame and blanket me whenever he was near. It was just…him. The scary beautiful man that threatened to alter 23 years of routine and rituals, and make me face my crippling fear.

My name is Kami and I am constantly afraid. And the thing that scares me the most is the very thing I want.

                                                   Release Date: July 18th, 2013

***Inspired by true events***

Excerpt:
“Hey,” I smiled, stepping behind the bar and tying the little black apron around my waist. Dive had just opened and was completely empty aside from the day shift preparing for the lunch crowd.

Blaine turned from his task of refilling the soda dispenser and crooked a grin. I could only describe it as polite, and that fact tore me in two.

“Hey, Kami.” His deep chocolate eyes narrowed. “You change your hair?”

I twirled a lock of my honey blonde highlighted mane and shrugged. “Felt like I needed a change.” I didn’t have the guts to tell him that it was really an attempt at bribery by Angel. She knew I was a whore for spa days at the upscale salon she frequented and used my weakness to try to get me to gush about my feelings for Blaine. It didn’t fully work as she intended but I did throw her a bone: I told her I was attracted to him. It was harmless enough. Even a 90 year old deaf and blind woman would have a raging lady boner for him.

Blaine gave me the most genuine smile I had seen from him in days and I swear I felt something in my chest swell. “I like it. Makes you look…I don’t know… devastatingly sexy.”

I didn’t try to stifle the blush that I could feel heating my cheeks. I embraced it. It was the first time I had felt anything but regret in days. “Yeah?”

“Hell yeah,” he said, closing the distance between us in three long strides.

And there it was again. The smell of mint and spice and pure male. The heat that seemed to roll off his body and enfold me like a mink blanket. Those intense brown eyes that made me forget my own name and had me imagining screaming out his. Him. It was all him. Blaine somehow made me forget me. The me that wasn’t allowed to feel all these beautiful, exciting things. The me that didn’t believe in happy endings. The me that was unlovable, and in turn, could never, ever love.

“You were sexy before…unbelievably so. But the way the golden strands seem to meld with your green eyes, it just… wow. Makes it hard to look at anything or anyone else.”

I sucked in a breath of air and let it out slowly through my mouth, closing my eyes in attempt to regain some sense of composure. “Blaine…” I couldn’t say anymore. His name, occupying my tongue like his skin once did, was enough.

“I’m sorry,” he sputtered quickly, breaking me from the sweet memories of tasting him. My eyes fluttered open to him looking sheepish, rubbing the back of his neck with a tattooed hand. Shit, even that was sexy.

“I think I should explain.” He rolled the barbell in his mouth before flashing me a strained grin. “I have this habit of always saying how I feel, no matter how embarrassing it is. A long time ago, I didn’t speak my mind. I didn’t ask the right questions because I was afraid of the answers. And life shitted on me because I kept my mouth shut. So I vowed to always be brutally honest and let the chips fall where they may. I’m sorry if that makes you uncomfortable.”

I looked away, seeking refuge from his penetrating stare. It didn’t make me uncomfortable. His words, his presence, it made me anxious. It made that pesky flutter in my stomach evolve into a full on swarm of butterflies.

“It doesn’t make me uncomfortable,” I replied, speaking my truth. For once, I didn’t let fear suppress my first instinct. “But you do make me nervous.”

“Nervous?” Blaine asked, crooking a brow.

“In a good way,” I quickly recovered. Shit. Real smooth.

Blaine chuckled, and that fascinating sound chipped at the wall around my forgotten heart. “I wasn’t aware there was a good kinda nervous. But I’ll take it. Anything to see your cheeks get pink like that. You have no idea how it makes me feel when that happens.”

Speechless. I was rendered completely speechless and my cheeks had taken on a life of their own and complied with his wishes. The smile that spread across Blaine’s lips as he took in my reddened face was undeniable and I suddenly felt completely stripped bare before him. I just wanted to cover myself and hide. But Blaine wasn’t having that. Before my nerves sent me cowering in a corner, his head dipped, placing his lips at my earlobe.

“I know you said you don’t feel anything,” he whispered. “But can you honestly say that you don’t feel this? That this heat, this attraction, is all in my head? Don’t think about it; just answer. Tell me what your heart wants to say and not what your head keeps trying to make you believe.”

I swallowed down the ‘no’ that was already reflexively building in my throat and let Blaine’s proximity push away the fear. His presence did that for me; it got me out of my own way.

“Yes, Blaine,” I rasped. “I feel it.” I did. I felt all of it. I felt all of him.

Verbally abused by her mother for years, 18 year old Ellie Johnson always believed she would never be loved or wanted by anyone. She focused all of her attention on her grades and getting into the University of Texas to start a new life away from her mother.
The last thing Ellie expected was to fall in love with Gunner Mathews, a starting linebacker for the University of Texas football team and not to mention, her brothers best friend.

Gunner knows they are meant to be together forever, but Ellie keeps denying her feelings out of fear of being hurt again. Every time he gets close to winning her love, something pushes her away again. Will Ellie ever be able to let go of the past and let him into her heart and will Gunner be patient enough to wait for her?
What will it take for them to realize they are all each other have ever WANTED?

I couldn't put this book down I started it and when life interrupted I would do what ever I had to do to get back to it.  I fell in love with Gunner it was love at first read.  The struggle with Ellie to let Gunner love her was so real I found my self yelling at my kindle several timesKelly did an amazing job with this book her characters were so life like it was hard to leave them in the book !! I wanted to go out get me some girly cowboy boots and hat and go spend the week at Gunners ranch.  Ellie's brother was an amazing big brother in this book her rock during those awful yrs with her abusive mother No matter what he did what he could to help Ellie out.  Several times i did want to reach in to my kindle and bitch slap her mother.  Ari her best friend I loved her!! She reminded me of my best friend  wild and carefree and stubborn.  The back and forth in this book was so real the give and take in a slow hot foreplay that leads up to one great ending.  I loved the fact that wanted's characters all seemed real not fantasy they had real life problems and phobias. I could relate to them they all felt like family I could see my self their in their boots.

This was a true romance pure whole hearted no strings attatched love story From page one to the last page. I will warn you there were times i got mad and wanted to throw my kindle. There were times I was sad but  always there were happy tears in the end!! So make sure you keep a pack of tissues handy and make sure when you do buy this book you buy Saved at the same time because you dont want to wait another day to continue on the story of Ari and Ellie's brother Jeff.

Here is a Quote from the book one of my favorites!!

I hope all of you enjoy Wanted as much as i did !!!

BOOK REVIEW ~This Girl~ by Colleen Hoover

In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from his point of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.
~Um, WOW!! 'This Girl' isn't just 'Slammed' in Will's POV, it's a continuation of a wonderful love story, as they reflect back on their relationship.  I didn't re-read 'Slammed' or 'Point of Retreat' before reading 'This Girl'. It wouldn't hurt to re-read them, but I also didn't need to as I found myself being pulled right back into where things left off. The feelings, the emotions... this book has all of them.
Will isn't just re-capping what happened, he's explaining how what happened made him feel and why he made the choices that he did.
There are things in this book that are added to make the story more complete and things that Lake knew nothing about.

I'm honestly sad that this is the end of the series. I loved all the characters!! Who can't love Will and Lake? Gavin and Eddie are amazing best friends. Kel and Caulder put things in their lives that people can't even imagine. Kiersten is butterflying awesome! Somehow Julia is still even giving amazing advice. I didn't think it was possible to not like Vaughn more than I did, but I was wrong.

Congratulations to Colleen Hoover for such and amazing series and thank you for sharing you're amazing accomplishments!

Book Review~ Breathe into Me ~by Amanda Stone

Eighteen year-old Kelsey Rien is more than ready to leave her past behind her.
Wanting nothing more than to walk into a room without everyone knowing the horrific details of an event that changed her life six years ago, she vows to concentrate on school and make something of herself.
But then she meets Kane Riley - the local bad boy. Kane's reputation is far from perfect, but is there more to him than what everyone else sees?
Kelsey soon learns that you can’t run from your past, no matter how hard you try. When her nightmares find her once again, Kelsey must find the courage to face the demons that have been haunting her and save the people she loves most.

~First I want to say that I wish that this book was longer. I didn't want it to end. I was totally sucked into the connection that Kelsey has with Kane, but at the same time I didn't know where it was coming from.
Kelsey has definitely been through some hard times, things that most people would never be able to handle. I do wish that there had been a little more details about when her demons come back for her, it seemed as if it just happened out of nowhere and then it was over.
I could have used a bit more details on why the sudden change in Nate as well. One minute he's cool, and BAM... he's not cool. Did not see that coming.
Kane has also been through his fair share of crap in his life and dealt with it in ways that produced the 'bad boy' image. I was instantly in love with how he acted around Kelsey, even with her being so judgmental.
I LOVED Kane's grandparents! They're the kind of people everyone wishes they had in their lives. The same goes for Jessi and her friendship with Kelsey. How can you NOT love a best friend like that.
I loved the honesty in this book between Kelsey and Kane, and I wanted to slap Kelsey when she jumps the gun on her feelings, but being a female, sometimes you let emotions get the better of you.
We could all use guys like Kane in our lives and I can't wait to see what else Amanda Stone gives to read.
