Jude has spent the whole twenty one years of his life running. From what, he wasn't quite sure. His mother tried to keep him safe; a low profile, a constant move on the horizon, a week's pay always stashed away. She tried to instill in him that he was special somehow, though would never elaborate. He never felt different. He was so completely normal and vanilla that he wondered if it had all been in her head. But then she was murdered and all he saw was a running silhouette of a man as his mother said three final words to him. Three words that changed his whole being.
Never stop running…
Now he's semi-settled into a big town. The college is huge and easy to blend into. It's been three months since he had to move because 'Biloxi', as he calls the man who killed his mother, found him once more.
Then Marley, an eighteen year old girl who is as infuriating as she is blissfully ignorant of her gorgeousness, smashes into his car with hers. Then smashes into his life as he realizes that whatever it is he has that Biloxi wants, she has it, too. And now, they're after them both.

Shelly is a NEW YORK TIMES & USA TODAY bestselling YA author from a small town in Georgia and loves everything about the south. She is wife to a fantastical husband and stay at home mom to two boisterous and mischievous boys who keep her on her toes. She loves paperbacks, coffee, and candy corn, and to spend time with her family and friends, go out to eat at new restaurants and site see in the new areas they travel to, listen to music and also LOVES to read.
Her own books happen by accident and she revels in the writing and imagination process. She doesn't go anywhere without her notepad for fear of an idea creeping up and not being able to write it down immediately, even in the middle of the night, where her best ideas are born.

I have long waited to read this little piece of awesome by Shelly since it was posted on her blog page.
Shelly had said it was going to be a different writing style and that it most definitely is. I LOVED it. I have loved every book by Shelly and yes I have read ALL of them.
This is a Page turner, suspense of wanting more, to figure out what it is that lies beneath the surface of these characters. Shelly has always has a way with keeping you guessing, keeping the plot building. There is nothing cliché with a troubled boy, in danger, and a beautiful girl equally as troubled being his saving grace, his reason for change. This was an amazing love story, the connection between the two that was there, you knew it was there but you couldn’t put your finger on it. I love that with Shelly’s books. ~
Jude has been living life on the run since he can remember. Why? Jude is not quite sure, he knows that whoever it is is trying to kill him and succeeded in killer his mother when he was still little. Jude has made it the norm to never get attached moving along in a quick hurry when the person who is after him catches up to his location.
Marley is this sweet feisty girl who is troubled by the way Jude is so dismissive towards her. She is insulted by his acts of chivalry (the few that he could muster up at first), to find that she is not so different than him after all. Marley is a survivor, moved a lot like Jude but not because she was being hunted but because she was tossed around in the foster system from abusive home to abusive home.
The story is from Judes POV, his way of life, his thought process and how he copes with life. ... And then SHE Smashes into Him…. Well his truck anyways… and begins their story.
Who would think you could push someone away, intentionally try to make them hate you because you don’t want to break their heart or have their life on your conscious could fall in love with you?
The planets were not aligned for these two at the beginning, but as shelly always shows us there is a reason for everything a connection for everyone, it all happens for a reason.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from front to back! Love Shelly and Cannot wait for more from her!
